who we are

- We assist people who are experiencing homelessness or are housing-unstable.
- We’re a collaborative initiative, working with C.H.A.N.C.E, Community Services Consortium, and others.
- We work with area agencies to connect folks with services and housing.
- We provide intensive case management when help is needed accessing resources.
what we do

Our outreach team distributes food, hygiene, and medical supplies, and provides assistance accessing services. Teams go out every Monday and Friday from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM* and Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM. We focus on building relationships and treating everyone with dignity, respect, and compassion.
*On days forecast to be 90 degrees or above, we will go out from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM

In January of 2023, COAT team staff and volunteers participated in the annual Point In Time count for Linn County. Every year, each county conducts this count to help determine where to concentrate their resources. As well, important demographics and comparisons to the previous years are collected and analyzed.
As shown in the graph, this year’s count showed a significant increase in the numbers of unhoused individuals in Linn County.
Our COAT team along with the entire Creating Housing Coalition members and volunteers are working to provide lasting solutions and help alleviate homelessness in our community. Please join us!
