HOW YOU CAN HELP

As Hub City Village comes ever closer to completion, more and more of our supporters are stepping up to volunteer. If you have a special talent, skill, or passion you love to share, or an idea for a volunteer project, let us know. We can put you to work! Help is needed in various projects and events. Below are just some of the current and future volunteer opportunites.

C.O.A.T. has an immediate need for volunteers to fill hygiene kits for the unhoused on Friday mornings.

WELCOME QUILTS

MANY OF THE MEMBERS OF THE QUILTING COMMUNITY IN ALBANY AND BEYOND HAVE BEEN BUSY MAKING QUILTS TO WELCOME NEW RESIDENTS HOME.
MANY THANKS TO CAMILLE AINSWORTH AND VIKKI MAHAFFY FOR HEADING UP THIS PROJECT. YOU ROCK!

MAKING WINDOW CURTAINS

ALONG WITH COORDINATING THE “ADOPT A HOME” PROJECT, JOYCE MARVEL-BENOIST HAS BEEN BUSY WITH OTHER VOLUNTEERS COLLECTING FABRIC AND MAKING CURTAINS THAT WILL LIVEN UP THE TINY HOUSES. THE NEW RESIDENTS WILL LOVE IT!

COMMUNITY GARDEN

Plans are underway for creating a community garden at Hub City Village. When the time comes, we will need several volunteers to help put it all together.
If you have an interest and have some skills, knowledge, and strength in food gardens, we could use your expertise and hard work!
Volunteers are needed in the following areas:

  • Planting fruit trees
  • Educating residents about vegetable gardening and fruit tree and shrub care.
  • Installing beds for community garden
  • Preparing garden beds
  • Building ADA garden beds
