Thanks to a grant from Wells Fargo Foundation, CHC has launched a life skills education and leadership training program for members of Hub City Village Cooperative (HCVC). Partnering with Supported Living Foundations (SLF) to carry out the program, mini workshops and classes are offered bi-monthly designed to enhance individual and interpersonal skills within the Village and throughout the community. Topics such as understanding neurodiversity, how to manage tasks and expectations of daily life while minimizing stress, effective communication, and setting healthy boundaries are just a few of the life skills topics discussed.
Leadership training offer HCVC officers and committee chairs a better understanding of the organizational structure of HCVC and their roles within the cooperative. In-depth studies of HCVC bylaws, leases and agreements along with ongoing coaching for those in leadership provide them with the skills and knowledge to run effective meetings, be accountable and transparent with the other co-op members, and build more functional committees to carry out and be accountable for Village tasks and responsibilities.
We are extremely grateful to Brooke Knutzen of SLF for putting her heart and soul into this program. YOU ROCK!!
