My name is Patricia. My son Harley and I have been at Hub City Village since April 2025. Before we moved into the village I was broken. I had 2 years of soberty and my youngest child back in my custody but my life was in shambles. I was grieving the loss of my son Damion who passed away March 24, 2023 at the age of 12 1/2. I had no purpose and no direction i was just surviving each day.
When we moved into the village I was welcomed with open arms. I no longer felt alone because every where I looked there was someone wanting to talk to me. My life once again had a purpose and I had direction. I got a job at C.H.A.NC.E as a swing shift peer support specialist and certified recovery mentor.I didn’t have to worry about finding a sitter and taking my son to a stranger because my village family stepped up to help me out.
When they say it takes a village it truly does. Without Hub City Village i don’t know where my son and I would be.
