“People don’t want to be homeless. They’re just trying to survive.”

Democrat Herald reporter Shayla Escudero recently ventured out to talk to some people living out of their cars on the outskirts of the city, some of whom are life-long Albany residents. Lack of affordable housing, job loss, and disabilities are just a few of the circumstances that Shayla found that can lead one to lose their housing.
